Welcome to my website! I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of North Carolina at Asheville. I have a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. My areas of study are American politics, public administration, and research methodology. My research interests include Latinx politics, political representation, public opinion, and political behavior. I study American politics more broadly, but am particularly interested in the political representation and political behavior of the Latinx population in, and outside of, government.
My research primarily focuses on, 1) the extent to which Latinxs are represented in government, 2) how legislators communicate with their constituents, and 3) the factors that influence support for minority positions by members of majority groups.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
